My unique process
Every piece I create begins long before paint touches canvas.
My process is rooted in observation, emotion, and lived experience—especially the quiet moments we often overlook. I’m drawn to faces, gestures, and expressions that carry unspoken stories. These stories guide my choices in color, texture, and composition.
I start with loose sketches and layered underpainting, allowing the work to emerge organically rather than forcing a final image too early. This freedom gives space for imperfection, which I believe is where truth lives. I build texture intentionally—scraping, marking, and revisiting areas—so the surface holds memory and movement, not just color.
Color plays a critical role in my work. I use bold contrasts and unexpected palettes to reflect emotional tension, resilience, and connection. Each layer responds to the one beneath it, much like our own experiences shape who we become.
Throughout the process, I pause often—stepping back, listening, and letting the piece tell me what it needs next. When the work feels honest—when it reflects shared humanity rather than perfection—I know it’s complete.
What you see in the final piece is not just an image, but a conversation between emotion, intuition, and time.
